Wealthy property owner Farzana Kausar, 59, was jailed for six years and eight months last December after being convicted of keeping a person in slavery and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
She controlled the finances of her victim, 62, cutting her off from her family and forcing her to cook, clean and care for her children, often having to work 14-hour days. Kausar made benefit claims on her victim’s behalf but kept the cash.
Now Kausar must pay her victim £198,000, which includes state and housing benefits she took from her, along with unpaid wages for her time in servitude.
An additional £7,000 was also confiscated for national insurance payments.
